I’m Jonathan Barnes. I was born and raised in Greenville, Illinois, played five years of college baseball, and earned my MBA from McKendree University, so I understand firsthand what it takes for a business, and a family, to succeed. I work as a tax accountant for businesses, and through Citadel Heritage I help families find simple, honest life insurance built around what matters most to them.
Our goal is simple: make sure the people you love are taken care of, without pressure and with the fine print explained in plain English. For every family we help, we look for the most coverage their budget allows at the lowest monthly premium we can find among the insurance companies we work with.
We’re independent, so we aren’t tied to any one insurance company. We compare policies from the insurance companies we work with, handle the paperwork, and walk you through every step. There’s no fee for our help (the insurance company you choose pays us a commission), and there’s never an obligation.

Our help costs you nothing extra. The insurance company that issues your policy sets the premium and pays Jonathan a commission, so you pay the same premium for that policy as you would through any other agent.

We apply together
Many policies need no medical exam, just health questions answered by phone. Approval and price depend on your answers and the insurance company’s review. Depending on your health, some policies pay only a limited benefit in the first two or three years. We handle the paperwork.
Kept private
When you apply, the insurance company checks records such as your medical and prescription history, so the application asks for your Social Security number. We keep it confidential, use it only for your coverage, and never sell it. You’re never obligated to buy.
