About this site

These terms apply to your use of citadelheritage.com. By using this site, or by sending a form, booking an appointment or agreeing to be contacted through it, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use this site.

citadelheritage.com is operated by Jonathan D Barnes, doing business as Citadel Heritage, an independent licensed insurance producer (NPN 21719380), based in Greenville, Illinois. This site is a solicitation of insurance, and a licensed insurance agent may contact you.

Jonathan D Barnes holds an insurance licence in Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas and Washington. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell, or a solicitation to buy, insurance in any state where Jonathan D Barnes is not licensed.

The site and the software behind it are licensed to Jonathan D Barnes by The Place for Life LLC and remain The Place for Life LLC's property.

Nothing here is an offer of coverage. Any quote is an estimate until an insurance company issues a policy, and no coverage is in force until then. Not all applicants will qualify. Rates, coverage and availability vary by state, age and health, and are subject to underwriting. We are not connected with or endorsed by any government agency or the federal Medicare program.

The text message program: the Citadel Heritage SMS Program

The Citadel Heritage SMS Program sends text messages from Jonathan D Barnes about life insurance: an introduction to our services with a link to our website, follow-up messages inviting you to schedule a consultation, and occasional messages checking back in about our services. These are marketing and promotional messages, and they may be sent using automated technology. If you book an appointment with us, we also text you a confirmation and a reminder about it.

How you join on our quote form: you tick the consent box on the form. The box starts unticked, and the form cannot be sent until it is ticked. We then text a one-time code to the number you gave. The screen where you enter the code shows our full consent disclosure, which covers calls, texts and emails. Entering the code and clicking Verify confirms that the number is yours and is your electronic signature on that disclosure, and that disclosure is the wording we keep as the record of your consent.

How you join on a personal booking link we email you: the booking page it opens also shows a consent box, but there it is optional, and you can book without ticking it. We text a code to the number we have for you, and the screen where you enter it shows the same full consent disclosure. Entering the code and clicking Verify is your electronic signature on that disclosure and joins you to this program, whether or not you ticked the box.

Filling in a lead form on Facebook or Instagram, or a lead provider passing us your details, does not by itself add you to this program. We may contact you about your request, and the program’s messages begin only if you join as described above.

If you ask us on a call to send you a text, our automated system sends only the text you asked for, plus confirmations and reminders for an appointment you book. It does not sign you up for our automated marketing texts.

If you text us, our assistant may answer you, and if the conversation then stops before a time is booked it may send you one message checking back, about a day later.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchasing anything.

If you change or give up the mobile number you gave us, reply STOP from it first or tell us, so that our messages do not reach the number’s next owner. Please do not give us a number that someone else uses.

How to stop, restart or get help

Reply STOP to any message and our texts stop. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPTOUT and OPT-OUT work the same way, and so does a plain request such as "stop texting me".

When you opt out by text, we treat it as a request to stop our marketing calls and emails to you too.

If you change your mind, reply START or UNSTOP from the same phone. That lifts the block on texts to that number. It does not restart our calls or emails, and it does not by itself restart our messages: we text you again only where permission you have already given us still allows it, such as about an appointment you have booked with us, or after you give us new permission, for example by joining as described above.

Reply HELP and you will get our business name and how to reach us.

Or contact us directly at (618) 726-8581 or jonbarnesffl@gmail.com.

Privacy

How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy at citadelheritage.com/privacy. No mobile information is sold, rented or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Who we are, and who we are not

Jonathan D Barnes is a licensed insurance producer. We are not an insurance company. We do not issue policies, decide claims, or guarantee that any application will be approved. Coverage comes from the insurance company that issues it, and any guarantee depends on that company’s ability to pay claims.

The Place for Life LLC provides the website and the software we use to run it. It is a software company. It is not an insurance producer or an insurance company, it does not sell, solicit or negotiate insurance, and it is not a party to any policy you apply for. Anything you are told about insurance on this site comes from us, not from The Place for Life LLC.

Some of our calls and texts are handled by an automated assistant that uses artificial intelligence. It is not a licensed insurance agent, and it is not allowed to quote prices, recommend a policy or say whether you would qualify. If it seems to, please treat that as a mistake and check with the licensed agent. Only the licensed agent and the insurance company can give you a price, tell you whether you qualify, or tell you what a policy covers. Nothing the assistant says is an offer of coverage or changes these terms.

The policies we can offer you come only from the insurance companies Jonathan D Barnes works with, not from every insurance company, so the options we show you may not include every policy available to you. Jonathan D Barnes is paid by those insurance companies, directly or through a general agency, usually as a commission on a policy they issue. If a fee is ever charged for our help, you will be told the amount and asked for your written agreement before you pay it.

Nothing on this site is legal, tax, financial or medical advice.

The general information on this site about insurance is not a recommendation for your own situation. Whether a policy suits you is for you to decide with a licensed agent, who will ask about your needs.

Using this site, sending a form or talking with our assistant does not by itself make us your adviser or create a fiduciary relationship with you. It does not affect any duty the law of your state places on a licensed insurance agent or producer, as the section "Limits on what we owe you" says.

The policy is what counts

What this site and our general messages say about insurance is a summary. The policy issued by the insurance company, together with your application, sets out your coverage, its exclusions and its limits. If anything on this site differs from them, the policy and the application control. Please read your policy when you receive it.

Sending a form, booking an appointment or talking with our assistant does not start any coverage and does not commit any insurance company to cover you.

If you are thinking of replacing insurance you already have, do not cancel it or stop paying for it until the new policy has been issued and is in force. Replacing a policy can cost you benefits you already have, and the law of your state may require the licensed agent to give you a written notice about replacement no later than when you apply.

What you tell us

You are responsible for giving us, and any insurance company, complete and truthful answers: on our forms, on calls and on any application. We rely on what you tell us. If an answer on an insurance application is incomplete or untrue, the insurance company may be able to deny a claim or cancel the policy. Before you sign an application, read every answer on it, including any we filled in with you, and tell us or the insurance company about anything that is wrong.

If you give us information about someone else, such as a beneficiary or a family member, you confirm that you are allowed to share it with us for that purpose. This does not cover a phone number or email address for us to contact: give us only your own.

Our forms are for people 18 or older. Our quote form asks for your date of birth and goes no further for anyone younger, and our consent disclosure asks you to confirm that you are 18 or older.

Electronic notices and signatures

You agree that we may give you notices and information about this site, these terms, our Privacy Policy and your request electronically, by email or by posting them on this site. This does not cover a notice or document that the law requires to be given to you in writing, such as a notice about replacing a policy, a privacy notice about a policy, or the policy itself. Those are given to you in the way the law requires.

When you enter the code we text you and click Verify on one of our forms, that is your electronic signature on the consent disclosure shown on that screen, and it has the same effect as signing the same words on paper. We keep that disclosure word for word, with the date and time, and you can ask us at any time for a copy of it.

The site is provided as it is

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Jonathan D Barnes and The Place for Life LLC make no warranties of any kind about the site, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not promise that the site will be uninterrupted, free of errors or secure against every threat, that defects will be corrected, or that quotes, figures or availability shown here will match what an insurance company finally offers. Rates and availability change.

Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limits on what we owe you

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither Jonathan D Barnes nor The Place for Life LLC is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or loss of goodwill, arising out of your use of this site, even if we were told such damages were possible.

For any claim arising out of this site or these terms, our total liability to you is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100). This limit does not apply to a claim about an insurance policy you actually hold, which is governed by that policy and the law that applies to it, or to damages that a statute sets for calls, texts or emails and that the law does not allow to be limited by agreement.

The Place for Life LLC is not a party to these terms but is an intended beneficiary of this section and of the section above, and may rely on both. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any duty that the law of your state places on a licensed insurance agent or producer in dealing with you, or any responsibility for breaching such a duty.

Some states do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Using this site

Give us accurate information about yourself, and only submit a phone number or email address that is yours, meaning you are its subscriber or its customary user. Do not use this site to break the law, to impersonate anybody, to interfere with how it runs, or to collect information about other people from it.

The text, design, logos and software on this site belong to us or to our licensors and are protected by law. You may read and print these pages for your own personal use.

If there is a problem, contact us first

Where the law allows, before either of us starts a lawsuit or any other formal legal claim about this site or these terms, we each agree to contact the other first in writing (an email is enough), describe the problem and what would put it right, and allow 30 days to try to resolve it. You can reach us using the details at the end of these terms.

If your concern is about our calls, texts or emails to you, we ask that you tell us first too, including the phone number or email address they reached, so that we can find them, stop them straight away and put things right. This is a request, not a condition.

This does not apply to a claim in small claims court or to a request to a court for urgent relief to stop ongoing harm, and it never stops you from complaining to your state insurance department or any other regulator at any time. It does not take away or reduce any right or remedy the law gives you. If a legal deadline would pass during those 30 days, either of us may act before it passes.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of this site or these terms belongs in the state or federal courts located there, and we each agree those courts may hear it, except that either of us may bring a claim in small claims court where it qualifies.

Nothing here takes away a right you have under the consumer-protection or insurance law of the state you live in, or your right to complain to your state insurance department.

Changes, and the rest

We may update these terms. The current version is always published here with its version number and effective date, and using the site after that date means the updated terms apply to that use. A change does not apply to a dispute that either of us had already raised before the change took effect. This is version 4, in effect from September 30, 2026.

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given it up.

We may decline to give a quote, stop contacting you, or stop providing this site to anyone, for any lawful reason.

We may transfer these terms, and our rights under them, to a business that takes over ours. You may not transfer yours.
